Instruments and carbon sensors to monitor temperatures during heat treatment and combustion control of a furnace, boiler, or incinerator.
Marathon Products

Marathon Monitors Inc. offers the UltraCarb 2000 and the UltraCarb 4000 IR Systems. These IR systems work with an instrument to take readings from the Siemens Ultramat 23 multi-gas analyzer and calculates the furnace atmosphere carbon potential using proprietary Marathon algorithms. The carbon potential can be used to control the furnace operation by adjusting the so-called process factor on the carbon probe, or it can be passively logged as Quality Control data for future retrieval.

Ultracarb 4000: Is a twelve-point system using MMI's control instrumentation and a state-of-the-art three-gas infrared gas analyzer. The solenoid valve manifold provide a compact assembly for switching 8-12 sample points. The cabinet size, 72"x64"x18", allows the system to be placed in the confined quarters of the typical heat treat facility. The system has a long list of features that allow for automatic calibration, leak detection and sample line pressure monitoring. The low sooting sample probe eliminates concerns about sooting of the sample tube inside the furnace. The system has been designed to fulfill the demanding requirements of space, service and automatic diagnostics to keep up with the needs of today's heat-treating facilities.

Ultracarb 2000: Is a six point system using MMI's control instrumentation and a state-of-the-art three-gas infrared gas analyzer. The solenoid valve manifold provides a compact assembly for 4-6 sample points. The equipment is placed in a standard 36"x60"x18" wall mounted cabinet. The system can be placed in confined quarters, with less concern over floor space requirements. The system still maintains Marathon's long list of automatic features that allow for automated calibration, leak detection and sample line pressure response. The low-sooting sample probe eliminates concerns over sooting of the sample tube inside the furnace. The system has been designed to meet the requirements of space, easy service, reliability, and automatic diagnostics to keep up with the needs of today's heat-treating facilities.
